The Wichita (KS) Business Journal (10/6, McCoy, Subscription Publication) reports that in Koch Industries Inc.’s latest newsletter, Charles Koch discussed the difference between “good profit” and “bad profit.” According to Koch, good profit is “the type that creates long-term value that benefits society.” But “bad profit, as Koch defines it, ‘is generated by businesses that rely on corporate welfare, special treatment, short-sighted opportunism or outright fraud to prosper.’” Koch’s new book, “Good Profit,” expounds “on his Market-Based Management business philosophy, implementation of which he believes inexorably leads to good profit.”
