WICHITA, Kan. – Koch Industries announced today that it will sign a Statement of Support with Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). The statement pledges that Koch will provide supervisors tools to hire and support employees serving in the Guard and Reserve. Koch selected Veterans Day to sign the statement to express appreciation for all veterans who honorably served in the U.S. military.
ESGR, an office of the Department of Defense, promotes cooperation and understanding between reserve component service members and their civilian employers.
"Today, supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation's Guard and Reserve units," said Walter H. Frederick, III, Kansas state chairman, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. "The ESGR Statement of Support program is the cornerstone of ESGR's efforts to gain and maintain employer support."
“Working with ESGR allows us to provide more effective support to our Guardsmen and Reservists,” said John Buckley, military relations manager for Koch Industries. “These men and women have an exceptional work ethic and a focus on values that make them a great fit here at Koch.”
Participating in the ESGR Statement of Support is part of a broader effort at Koch to recruit veterans and help them succeed after they are hired. Koch’s veteran recruiting program provides networking and mentorship opportunities to help them successfully manage the transition from military service to a private sector career. Koch companies currently employ more than 3,500 veterans across the U.S. More information and current job openings can be found at www.KochCareers.com/veterans.
