Koch Fertilizer Receives Grand Slam Award For Its Commitment To Safe Rail Transportation

Koch Fertilizer, LLC has been awarded the 2013 Grand Slam Award, presented annually by the Association of American Railroads (AAR) to exemplary shippers of hazardous materials. To be eligible to receive the award, a shipper must have been honored by at least four Class I railroads and have zero non-accident releases involving their shipments during the previous calendar year.

“It is an honor to receive this Grand Slam Award recognizing our commitment to safe rail transportation,” said Kevin Flahive, director of North America rail transportation for Koch Fertilizer. “At all Koch facilities, employees are committed to a safe work environment at all times. We strive to manage operations in a manner that protects the health and safety of employees, customers, contractors, the public and the environment.”

Koch Fertilizer and its affiliates, including Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC and Koch Fertilizer Canada, ULC, produce and ship anhydrous ammonia from North American facilities and terminals. The four Class I railroads recognizing Koch Fertilizer include: BNSF Railway; Canadian National Railroad; Kansas City Southern and Union Pacific Railroad.
