Koch Pipeline Company (KPL) today released a first-of-its-kind mobile app directed at providing helpful pipeline safety information in a simple format for people who live or work near pipelines that KPL operates.
“We always strive to communicate effectively with our neighbors, and this app is the latest effort to achieve that goal,” said KPL executive vice president Bob O’Hair. “We are excited to use prevalent technology to communicate important information to those who live or work near our pipelines.”
The free application, available at the iTunes and Android app stores, is the first pipeline app for residents and workers. Its three main themes – Recognize, React, and Report – help users understand where they are located in relation to a pipeline, recognize possible pipeline issues or suspicious activity, react effectively, and report the information. The app also includes a feature on how to dig safely near a pipeline, and live links to contact emergency services and KPL.
The application, called KochPipelineSafety can be found at the iTunes and Google Play app stores. Learn more at www.kochpipeline.com.
